School Information

Tutoring Chicago provides services to children in grades 1-9. We do not enroll children in kindergarten or grades 10-12 at this time.

We do not accept any new 7th, 8th, or 9th grade students. If your student will be a 7th, 8th, or 9th grader during the 2022-2023 school year, they can only apply and participate in Tutoring Chicago if they were in the program in 2021-2022 as a 6th, 7th, or 8th grader.

Tutoring Chicago recruits volunteer tutors to work with our students. These tutors receive training, resources, and support from Tutoring Chicago. They each have their own set of strengths, experience, and educational backgrounds. The majority of our volunteer tutors do not have a background in education or experience working with students that have special needs. If your student needs a volunteer tutor that has experience or specializes in working with students that have special needs, please indicate this need within this section. If your student requires a specialized tutor, please note that it could take more time for your student to receive a match and in some cases, we may not be able to match your student.
