April Pair of the Month

For five years, Hannah and her student Roman have met for weekly virtual tutoring sessions, building both skills and confidence along the way.  “My weekly virtual tutoring sessions with my student Roman have been the absolute highlight of my week,” Hannah shares. Since starting together in first grade, Roman has developed a love for reading, strengthened his comprehension and writing skills, and consistently excelled on his assessments. Now, as he prepares to finish fifth grade and head to middle school, his confidence continues to shine – a true testament to his hard work and dedication!

This story is a powerful example of how 1:1 relationships foster growth, confidence, and academic success. With the ease of virtual sessions on Zoom, students like Roman can connect with dedicated tutors, like Hannah, who guide and support them every step of the way. As a member of Tutoring Chicago’s Tutor Associate Board (TAB), Hannah is not only committed to her student but also to strengthening Tutoring Chicago’s mission to provide free, high-quality tutoring to students across Chicago.
