At Tutoring Chicago, volunteer tutors deliver the power of education to Chicago students facing economic barriers through weekly one-to-one tutoring, providing tutoring at no cost to families. We are no longer accepting volunteer applications for the 2024-2025 school year. Applications for the 2025-2026 school year will open in May. Paired 1:1

Students (grades 1-12)  and volunteer tutors are paired one-to-one throughout the school year.

Weekly

Meet once a week for 90 minutes in-person (Near North, Logan Square, Pilsen, or Southside) or online via Zoom.

Training & Curriculum

All volunteer tutors receive up front and ongoing training and support. Plus, access to tutoring curriculum, resources, and agendas.

Support Staff

Each volunteer has a program manager and program coordinators to guide and assist them throughout the school year.

Looking for Community Service Hours?

Community service hours are available when tutoring at Tutoring Chicago. We are looking for a commitment of 90 minutes a week for the entire program year. The community service hours can be served as part of this larger commitment.
